Ashneer Grover, the former co-founder of BharatPe, is set to introduce ZeroPe, a fintech initiative focused on medical loans. Developed by Third Unicorn and currently in testing, the app aims to provide instant pre-approved medical loans of up to Rs 500,000, exclusively available through partner hospitals.

Tapping into a Growing Trend

Ashneer Grover’s venture falls in line with the rising popularity of instant financing solutions within the medical sector, evident in companies such as SaveIn and Qube Health. In January 2023, Grover, alongside his wife Madhuri Jain Grover and entrepreneur Aseem Ghavri, initiated Third Unicorn, commencing with the fantasy gaming platform CrickPe and securing $3.5 million in seed funding.

ZeroPe’s Entry into the Market

Following his departure from BharatPe, Grover initiated Third Unicorn, debuting with CrickPe in 2023. ZeroPe, Ashneer Grover’s latest venture, collaborates with Delhi-based NBFC Mukut Finvest to offer instant pre-approved medical loans of up to Rs 5 lakhs, exclusively accessible at partnered hospitals as per the ZeroPe app’s website.

ZeroPe joins a growing landscape of businesses catering to medical financing needs alongside SaveIn, Qube Health, Arogya Finance, and others.

Forecasting India’s Digital Healthcare Market

The digital healthcare sector in India is witnessing rapid growth, with startups offering data-driven medical loans. A joint report by Boston Consulting Group and B Capital predicts the industry will generate $37 billion in revenue by 2030, with healthcare financing contributing up to $5 billion. These ventures aim to integrate hospital networks, health insurance providers, and government healthcare schemes into their services.
